Living With Purpose: Gratitude, Hope, and Giving Back

Living With Purpose: Gratitude, Hope, and Giving Back

As I reflect on 2024, I’m reminded that success isn’t just measured in financial gains or professional achievements. It’s found in the relationships we nurture, the gratitude we practice daily, and the hope we foster. This year has been a journey of growth, both personally and professionally, and I’d like to share how gratitude, hope, and giving back have shaped my experiences.

Gratitude: Starting Each Day With Intention

Gratitude has been a guiding principle for me this year. Every morning, I try to take a few minutes to read my Bible and center myself with a cup of coffee alongside my wife, Kimberly. This simple routine brings a sense of peace and purpose that carries me through the day. One of the things I’ve been most thankful for in 2024 is my wife’s retirement after 19 years with Anthem. Having more time together has been a true blessing, and it’s made me even more grateful for the life we’ve built.

Hope: Looking Forward With Optimism

Watching my children ease further into adulthood this year has filled me with pride. Their achievements are the fruits of years of hard work, and as I feel their excitement, I can’t help but be optimistic! With our children becoming more independent, Kimberly and I have begun planning travel adventures we’ve always wanted to experience. We have so much to look forward to in 2025!

Giving Back: Finding Purpose Through Service

Giving back has always been important to me. Serving through Meals on Wheels in 2024 has been particularly fulfilling. I have the privilege of delivering meals to people who may not have family or friends to support them. These individuals often live in isolation, and the simple act of bringing them a meal not only meets a basic need but brings connection. Each time I make my deliveries, I’m reminded of how fortunate I am to have support in my life. It’s humbling to see how much a small gesture can mean to a neighbor.

In addition to Meals on Wheels, my wife and I have continued to support causes close to our hearts, including the Alzheimer’s Association and Special Olympics Indiana. We look forward to kicking off 2025 with the Kate Cares Gala, in support of those experiencing stillbirth. These moments remind me that giving our time and resources are powerful ways to bring hope and joy to others.

Balancing Work and Life With Technology

One of the things I am most thankful for is the flexibility technology provides, allowing me to stay fully accessible and responsive, no matter where I am. Whether having lunch with my daughter downtown or working remotely from our lake house, I am always closely connected with my clients. This isn’t about working less—it’s about working smarter. I’m able to deliver high-quality service to my clients while still enjoying meaningful moments with my family and friends. It’s a balance I deeply value.

Excitement for 2025: Personal and Professional Growth

I am excited about 2025! Personally, I’m considering training for a triathlon, and my wife and I are planning international travel and new experiences together. Professionally, I look forward to continuing to support our clients and share in their journey as they achieve important milestones in their own personal and professional lives.
